Must Try Goods From Third Culture Bakery

If you’ve never had a Third Culture Bakery baked good before, you’re in for a one-of-a-kind treat. Chef Sam Butarbutar’s recipes produce delectable flavors and textures that will keep you coming back for more. We source every ingredient with care and infuse every item with love you can taste. You can’t go wrong with any item on the menu, and we’re pretty sure you’ll want to try them all.

The Third Culture Bakery Celebrity

If you can only try one thing on the menu, you should order the Mochi Muffin. This baked treat started it all, and it’s gained a devoted following. The Mochi Muffin begins with flour made from California-grown mochiko rice, sourced exclusively from Koda Farms. If you’re on a gluten-free diet, you can indulge without worry! The rice flour combines with a house-made blend of pandan and coconut milk and French-style butter to create a rich flavor you won’t soon forget.

True to the nature of our company, the Mochi Muffin® celebrates culture. When Sam first developed the recipe, he was inspired by a recipe for an Indonesian dessert his mom used to make. The end result was a muffin that speaks to cultural heritage and nostalgia as well as something new. It is a third culture in baked goods.

A Sweet Brownie Treat

The Mochi Brownie takes traditional brownies to a new level. These sweet treats are also made with mochiko rice flour and are gluten-free. They are a chocolate-lovers dream. We use cocoa powder from local chocolatier TCHO chocolates and mix it with flavor-enhancing French-style butter. To make our Mochi Brownies even better, we also throw in some chocolate chips for you. You’re welcome.

Not Your Ordinary Donut

At Third Culture Bakery, we aim to create baked goods that make your whole day better. We want our items to be as unique as our customers. If you’re in the mood for donuts, we’ve got something special for you. The Mochi Donut isn’t an ordinary donut. It’s a flavor sensation that begins with — yes, you guessed it — Koda Farms’ rice flour. We also use dairy from local dairy farms and French-style butter.

To top it all off, the glaze we create is also unique. We make it from scratch, using Japanese black sesame seeds that we stone-mill in-house for 72 hours, fresh fruits and other carefully sourced ingredients. One more thing: Our donuts are baked, not fried, but you still get a crispy outside and light, rich interior.

We don’t cut corners with any of our baked goods. It’s important to us to make each product with integrity, which is why we are careful and mindful in choosing our sources for every ingredient. Whatever item you try, you can be sure we packed it with love and goodness.
